When Pepper appeared at Toni’s workshop at 7.30 with her breakfast, she was surprisingly awake. In fact, she was lying in the chair with het top off scrutinizing her own chest.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I’ll come back later, when you’re not that busy with whatever it is you’re doing.”- Pepper muttered nearly dropping the breakfast tray. He was already at the door when she called:
“Hey, come back right now!”
Pepper sighed, put the tray on the desk and approached her chair covering his eyes with his palm. What the fuck is she thinking? Toni might be a dyke, but he is still a man, not some kind of sexless robot servant.
“What is it, ma’am?”- he asked stiffly.
“Jesus, Peps, that’s not the most inappropriate you have ever seen me.”
“Not when you’re sober, no.”
“Good point well made. Look, would you stop being such a 30-year-old Virgil and look at me.”
Pepper reluctantly removed his hand from his eyes and looked at his semi-naked boss. Now he noticed that she looked kind of pale and sick and jittery.
Toni was holding a shiny new reactor. It was a bit different from the previous model. She must have spent the whole night upgrading it.
“I need you to change my batteries. Would’ve done it myself, but I can’t see into my own chest and I wouldn’t risk putting a camera in there. And don’t even think about suggesting Dum-E for this job. You might as well ask a dog to do it.”
“Do you have to be so… naked for this, Toni?”
“Oh, I’m sorry! I don’t have my pretty frilly pink bra in here if that’s what gets you in the mood, but the time is ticking out. C’mon, Pepper, it’s just my tits. Pretty mediocre ones, too. They won’t bite.”
